PC for multimedia 3d animation, video editing

Hello, looking for a new system. My main needs are 3d rendering/animation (3DS Max), Adobe After Effects and Premiere for video editing. Would this be the same as building a gaming PC. If not please guide me through which parts are the most important in this animation/video editing/video capture workstation.


Approximate Purchase Date: unsure in the near future


Budget Range: (e.g.: 600-800) 600-650


System Usage from Most to Least Important: (3d animation (3dsmax), video editing (adobe after effects & premier) and photoediting (photoshop), video capture through another card,browsing, no gaming)


Parts Not Required: : keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS


Preferred Website(s) for Parts: : newegg.com, ncix.com or any other canadian sites or american if no shipping charges like Dell


Country of Origin: canada


Parts Preferences: by brand or type - would prefer Intel (sandy bridge) as they would be better suited for this


Overclocking: not really


SLI or Crossfire: maybe if the added power helps and stays within the budget


Monitor Resolution: don't need monitor, I have a 17 inch monitor
ok with medium resolution, don't need highend 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1680x1050

It would be really good if you used the form about how to ask for advice .

If you need the entire computer, monitor and operating system then your budget is just enough to buy a Dell instead
