Sabertooth Z77 Fan Clearance

I'm looking at building a whole new system in the next month or so and I'm looking at using the Sabertooth Z77:

But I'm also looking at the Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU heatsink/fan:

Can anyone tell me if this will clear the thermal armor? If not, any advice?

  1. There's a lot cheaper cooler for same cooling...
    like these kind

If your looking at good Liquid Cooling, I highly recommend an H100 or at least this one http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=69203 because IB run very hot because intel decided to use cheap thermal compound on the heat spreader... Even at 1.1vCore @ 4.5GHz, people get high temp like 70*C on a high end cooler...
  2. Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely look at those coolers. I'm not really big on water cooling, since I don't have a need for serious over-clocking (though I will do some) and because I don't really want to risk having "that accident."

However, the main reason I posted here was to find out what coolers will be able to fit on the sabertooth with its thermal armor on. Some of the higher end coolers require low profile memory because they stick out, but I can't get a good answer on how the thermal armor will effect cooler size. Any help wit that would be great.

Just to let you know, check or look up if the heatsink affect tall ram(1"), if so than it should affect those armor too since it's pretty long...
