Hi, new here, anyways here's the situation, I have a hp dv6000 and it has this networks card:

After I did some research I attempted to replace the networks card with a graphic card. Both cards are PCI-Ex1 but the graphics card just doesn't fit...can anyone explain to me where I went wrong?

Any replies are welcome

PS: I also bought a extension ribbon for the graphics card so it could sit outside the laptop :) and yes I know it wasn't the greatest of ideas, but seeing how its my only computer and buying a new one was out of the option it was the best thing I could think of.

I would suspect that the BIOS in your machine is not designed to accommodate your rather unusual modification. When you buy a machine like that what you see is what you get and there is very limited upgrade paths for them. I don't think that what you have done is technically possible.
