Specs:
GPU - gtx 580
CPU - i5 2500K
Case - HAF 922

Started my rig up for the first time and all fans started except the one for the processor. Temps were reading 97c so I shut it off. It's the stock fan that comes with the processor and I'm just waiting on the 212 to come in the mail. Still with no heatsink fan running should the temps get that high after a minute or two of use?

Alright, so I got the fan working but in the BIOS it still says 97c... watched it for about a minute never changed by 1 degree. Think something is just wrong with the BIOS temp reader?

Ok, we're not good! When the comp is idle just at the desktop the core temps are at 32-36c, but I noticed if I minimize Left 4 Dead and check the temps they are about 75c (only about ~12% processor usage too). Then they begin to go down to the high 30s low 40s if I keep it minimized. While playing Warcraft 3 it only goes up to ~40c. I ran a stress test to put it at 100% usage and all core temps went to around 97c degrees. I just added an extra 200mm fan on the side of the 922 too. Sometimes it seems there is a bit of sound lag in L4D, and there has been about 3 instances where I would get about half a second lag playing L4D with lots of action going happening on-screen. One time it froze for about 3-4 seconds. Any advice?

Still the stock. Ordered Amazon 1 day shipping but they had some stocking issue after I waited 3 days, had to contact them to see what was going on. Canceled, ordered on Newegg now and it will probly be here on Monday.

K. Did that and added a 120mm fan at the bottom, temps r still pretty much the same. However, when I was putting the CPU back in place I noticed one of the pins on the mainboard was missing... third row from the bottom (starting on the side with the arrow) 9th column. So, guess I'm going to have to RMA?

First time applying thermal paste and I put way to much. So far cleaned it twice with alcohol. Read the instructions of the site now and I'll reapply the right amount in the right area next time. Or should I RMA it too :p? RMA for the mainboard went thru.
