Which CPU would you go with?

I am looking at buying a new CPU for my laptop. The two that I am looking at are slightly different and I want to know which way to go. The first is an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz with 2MB of L-2 Cache. The other is an Intel Pentium 2.3 GHz with 1MB L-2 Cache. Is the processor speed needed more or is the L-2 Cache the thing to go for in this decision. Please help me.

What CPU does your laptop have right now? A 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo and a Pentium Dual Core 2.3 GHz are not all that high-end chips and may not be that great of an upgrade over what you already have. However, if those are your two choices, go with the Core 2 Duo since the FSB-equipped Intel CPUs really like L2 cache- or maybe I should say, performance drops quite a bit when you start taking it away.
