Prime 95 on i5 2400

So i just build my pc.
The cpu is i5 2400
idle temps - 25c to 30c
Prime 95 - 75c to 80c
Are these normal?
I didnt install the gpu as it didnt arrive yet.

my build -
CPU - i5 2400 - $165 (Microcenter)
Mobo - Biostar th67+ - $90
Gpu - sapphire 5850 extreme - $160
Memory - 2x2gb Ripjaws - $40
Hdd - 500gb seagate sata3 - $40
Case - NZXT M59 - $50
PSU - OCZ Stealthxstream 2 600 watt - $40 (after rebate)
DVD - Sony 24x sata - $20

You won't be overclocking the i5 2400 and you won't be running prime95 regularly just for the hell of it, so I think you're fine doing nothing. When using your PC for its intended purposes, your temps don't even reach 50 C. The hyper 212+ is inexpensive, so there isn't really a huge reason /not/ to get one. It just depends on if you don't mind the mild expense + the time required to remove thermal paste, reapply, and then mount the new cooler. And your benefit will be better temperatures in a program that you will never use.
 
...and what makes you think he'll NEVER use his cpu at 100% load?

...I bet you said you would never max a Q6600 out either right, you would be eating those words now. Try hooking a Q6600 up to a couple fast video cards and then come back and let us know what the cpu is running at. lol

Of course he'll see 100% load temps at some point, and 81c is too hot for me. If it's fine for you then go for it, it's got a 3yr warranty. lol
