First time building, need opinion.

Since I will be working alot this summer, I decided to use some of that money to build a desktop. Not only do I feel like I would need this (only have 13 in Macbook), it also seems like something fun to do. Since it was my first time doing this, I just decided to use some of the parts from tom's 1k build in March, which is also around my budget.

1. Graphics card, IMO for 1080p, HD 6850 or above would be a better option,... You can easily save some money with a different mobo/ CASE and get a better graphic card,...

2. HDD - Samsung F3 1TB would be a better option, more for the money and also SATA 6GB/s for mechanical drives is just a marketing gimmick,...

1. I will take the 6850 into consideration and will probably end up getting it. Are you suggesting me to change the mobo because it is not a good option, or is it to accommodate the increase of price for the new graphics card? If the mobo is good enough, I don't mind keeping it and spending more to ditch the 5770 for the 6850. Which mobo would you recommend if I were to change? Choosing a mobo is probably the hardest for me because I don't really know what to look for besides having the right socket to fit the i5.

2. I'll look more into this and will probably buy it also.

You said the one I chose was too much for casual stuff, but the one you gave me is even more expensive. I don't get it.

^ Ahh sorry, I mistook the mobo as the Z68 chipset version which is much costlier, my bad...

And get the Z68 chipset as it is the latest one from Intel and supposedly is compatible with the Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs, and many additional features...

you don't need the extra fan, the HDMI cable nor the heatsink and fan. money saved right there.
