I would like to upgrade my existing MB(for higher RAM): gigabyte G31M-S2L . Bios

I do lot of editing,animation etc.
current MB support only 4GB ram. I would like to upgrade my computer .

my existing Mother Board is:

Gigabyte G31M-S2L .
Bios : Award software International.
Version 3. Date :11/20. 2007.

Please help me a better option ( compatibility issues )

The problem is that except for G41 motherboards, the supply for new LGA775 motherboards has just about dried up.

Except for some refurbed 900 series chipsets, all newegg has is G41 boards:

The good news is that the G41 supports 8GB of DDR3 RAM. Total upgrade cost would be about $100.

You would need to decide if the cost is worth it or if you would be better off putting the money toward a new computer.
