Router Dropping Connection

Hello,

I have a maddening problem I just cannot solve. As a warning, I am not tech savvy.

I have ATT DSL. With my modem hardwired directly to my computer, it works perfectly. When I put a router into the mix, everything will work fine for a spell and then everything will cut off. I have tried two different modems and three different routers; I still have the problem. I am at wits end and have no idea what to do next. In short, and for reasons unknown, my wireless connection keeps getting bumped. Thanks in advance for the help.

what modem and router are you using?

is your modem connected to the router and then the router to the PC?
