My Panasonic CF-29 works great except for one annoying issue. If I set the
mouse pointer speed to a reasonable value for the trackpad (ie. I can move
across the screen in one swipe of the trackpad), then the mouse is so
touchy as to be unusable. When I drop the speed so I can use the mouse, it
takes five swipes of the trackpad to get across the screen.
And there is only one adjustment for mouse speed because there is only one
driver for trackpad, USB mouse, and PS/2 mouse.

If there is an "acceleration" setting, try turning that up (or down).
Other than that, there is no real solution.

Well actually there are two more things that William can try that works
most of the time for me. That is using either Microsoft IntelliPoint or
Logitech mouse drivers. They usually work fine for other manufactures as
well. And I did a quick search and I think I have the right URLs here.
