I've had this chip for about 3 years, i have little to no knowledge of what it might be.

What i know so far -

It is an Intel Xeon 7500,

LGA Socket 1366 Most likely.

Intel Chip Markings.

i (M) (C) '08
INTEL CONFIDENTIAL
Q1SQ ES A4
AT80604003051 AB
I846002U (e4)

Left Corner 35328118B 8229

(e4) means it is in a circle so is the M and the C.

The above is Verbatim to what is on the CPU

As far as i know i am 100% Positive it is an Intel Processor and it is a Xeon.

I contact Intel Live Support. What i got is HORRIBLE Support. Just horrible.

info: You are now chatting with 'Daniel'
(My Email) : Hello
Daniel: Hello. Thank you for using the Intel Customer Chat Support service. We are glad to be of service. How may I help you?
(My Email) : Ok
(My Email) : I've had this Intel Confidential Chip for about 2 years
(My Email) : And i have NO idea what it could be.
(My Email) : My research shows that it might be a Xeon 7500 series
(My Email) : I really need help with this.
Daniel: Those kind of processors are for testing and for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) exclusively
Daniel: Please check the following website:
(My Email) : Yes i understand
Daniel: http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-030747.ht...
(My Email) : Yes i have already read that.
(My Email) : I 've done a total of 7 hours of pure research.
(My Email) : I have come to this.
Daniel: The information we offer is exclusive for boxed processors, we apologize.
(My Email) : No probelem
(My Email) : Is there somewhere or someone you can forward to me?
(My Email) : That specializes in something like this?
Daniel: I am afraid to tell you there is no support from Intel(R) for such processors,
(My Email) : Really?
(My Email) : I'm not looking for support,
(My Email) : Im willing to just ship the chip to intel.
Daniel: yes, you will need to contact your vendor or place of purchase
(My Email) : Really i want to get rid of this.
(My Email) : Could you please read above?
(My Email) : I did not purchase it.
Daniel: you will need to contact your vendor or place of purchase for further assistance.
Daniel: the assistance we offer is exclusive for boxed processors
(My Email) : So your just taking no responsiblity for your work? Not understanding me? Just forwarding me to somewhere else?
Daniel: in first place, you are not supposed to have such processor in your hands,
(My Email) : Not my fault.
Daniel: contact the person that gave that processor for further assistance
(My Email) : is there someone else with higher authority and expertise that i can speak to?
Daniel: not on this channel, we apologize.
(My Email) : Im not saying that you dont have any authority.
(My Email) : Where
(My Email) : Could i contact such person?
Daniel: where did you get the processor ?
(My Email) : I got it from a friend
(My Email) : Which
(My Email) : Well
(My Email) : I person i know that works in a e-waste facility.
(My Email) : He said help me identify this chip.
(My Email) : But later 1 year later he said keep it.
(My Email) : He moved away.
(My Email) : So this is total 2.45 years i have had this chip in my possesstion.
Daniel: then contact him back, Intel(R) is not responsible for the distribution of these kind of processors.
(My Email) : It says here.
(My Email) : Intel Confidential
(My Email) : Is the PURE
(My Email) : property
(My Email) : of Intel (R)
Daniel: have you checked the website I gave you ?
(My Email) : yes
(My Email) : of course
Daniel: information is pretty clear there.
(My Email) : "Intel ES Processors are the sole property of Intel
(My Email) : "Intel ES Processors are the sole property of Intel" *
(My Email) : I wish to return it as a favor.
(My Email) : No.
(My Email) : Now*
(My Email) : Are you just going to repeat your words, or are you going to take some action to either help me or transfer me.
Daniel: I already explained the situation.
(My Email) : If you arent. I might as well save this chat log. Send it to your manager and see what he/she thinks of this.
(My Email) : I know.
Daniel: go ahead
(My Email) : Then could i have an email address?
Daniel: is on the website I gave you,
(My Email) : If you say "Go ahead"
(My Email) : No i need an email. Not a website.
Daniel: the email address is on the website.
(My Email) : No really i know that.
(My Email) : I was seeing if you would be kind enough
(My Email) : to press 4 keys
(My Email) : to tell me the email address.
(My Email) : But you chose to be rude and unkind and just point.
(My Email) : I am a customer. A very loyal one.
(My Email) : I chose to only buy INTEL (R) for a reason
Daniel: http://supportmail.intel.com/
(My Email) : I dont buy amd or ati.
(My Email) : Thank you.
Daniel: there is the link.
Daniel: as you wish.
(My Email) : Now.

Of course i do. But i dont run servers of any kind and wouldnt have use for one. I think an i7 is enough for Minecraft Servers :p .

Plus i cant find single cpu socket 1366 mobo's anywhere.

I want to but i cant because of money. I was hoping i might be able to contact Intel about this.

Oh sorry if you misread my post.

When you asked If you WANT it in a system, i replied with yes. If i had it in a system i would not be asking what it was. I dont have the hardware to find out what it is. Just a physical immaculate chip.

I didn't ask if you want it in a system.

Can you possibly upload a picture of it?

It looks almost like that, some minor differences like the side code and some chips.

I'm not sure why you were so rude to him. It's an ES, they don't provide support for those chips. Chevy makes a test car so people can ride it and give feedback. You show up X time later upset because you can't find a transmission that works on that car. THEY DON'T PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR ES CHIPS/CARS! The guy who gave it to you never should have had it. If they don't want it back, throw it away, recycle it, whatever. But to bitch at them because he won't give you info on the chip or "press 4 keys" just makes you seem rude. That's how I see it anyways, I'm sure you disagree.

I was in a rude-ish troll-ish mood that time. But he still kind of pissed me off.
All i was asking was a place to get better contact.

Which is not out of line to ask at all. I'd probably ask the same thing. But ES chips are ES chips. It's not going to happen.

Your chip does say A4. I'd feel better if it was a B stepping but its not A1 either. I don't know anything about those chips so I have no clue how many steppings they had. I doubt anyone running a server would want it seeing as its not final silicon, and as you pointed out the boards cost to much. Put it in your junk bin or display it at your home. Most valuable chip you'll never use?

Yeah i kept it for awhile in a beautiful gold glass box because i knew it was 2,000$ +, but ever since i got more and more curious, but fear of it losing its value or getting damaged. Im going all out now. Posted in CPU-World Intel Here Overclock, and i cant think of anywhere else to post. AMD forums? :p

Also thanks for your advice and i happy for this topic to be reasonably active!
