Sorry, I'm new here, so I'm not really sure how to word this, so I'll try my best. I bought an HP p6310f, everything default(6Gb RAM,Motherboard, etc.), except the graphics card, which I replaced. The processor is an AMD Athlon II X4 630 Quad-Core 2.8 Ghz. When I first got the pc, (about 2 weeks ago) all 4 cores showed up in my task manager and msconfig (tskmngr showed 4 windows in performance) Now, it seems like my pc is using only 1 core, and the other cores/windows do not show up. Any clue on why this is so? I updated my BIOS, and still, nothing happened. Remember, I didn't install the cpu, it came with the pc. I
In Task Manager select View, CPU History and the option you wish to
use. On my computer there are two options. One Graph, All CPUs and One
Graph per CPU. Are you saying these two options are greyed out?
what is your system OS ? Turbo mode enabled and the system is idling it may use minimum cores
Press Windows Key and R and Type Msconfig, Goto Boot.ini Tab and Then click advanced --- Set /NUMPROC= to the maximum , Ok and restart the system --- Open Task manager when back in windows
Hmm .. I don't know, dowload CPU-Z see how much core your CPU,
And Last option : try update bios from website your brand mobo, and backup important data, try Repair your OS or Recovery or clean install.
