Why compaq presario turn on and off stright away

Hello Please can anybody help me on my laptop COMPAQ PRESARIO F500 he as giving me hard time now because whe ever I put it on the front light I mean the power light will come on and and immediately the power will switch off stright away even the scree will not show anything, the light will not come out in scree.Please i need anybody to help me out.
