There is no difference in reliability. They are both fine.

For web browsing, and other things that are fairly light on CPU, they will both work fine.

For watching video, it will depend on the resolution (atom may struggle on high-def video, but it will be fine on lower res, like a lot of YouTube).

For gaming, it will depend on the game, but even a dual core will struggle sometimes.

Which dual core some atoms are dual core. All atoms are very weak compared to almost anything else.
