I am trying to put my first PC build together...I am wondering if this is a decent build and if it will be futureproof... I am not trying to go over $1500 and this is what I put together:

COOLER MASTER HAF 922

ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.0)

EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 570 (possibly sli in the near future)

CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-850HX 850W

Intel Core i7-2600K

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (x2 for 8gb)

Western Digital VelociRaptor WD4500HLHX 450GB 10000 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions to possibly upgrade this without increasing costs... possibly different brand of graphics card/case... Is this a decent case and a good brand for this video card?

leave the 2600k.Its just hyperthreading and 2mb of extra cache for an extra $100.
You can use that corsair for a sli setup later on which your mobo supports.I dont think velociraptors are worth the money.Better get a ssd for the more important stuff.

Be prepared for dust if you choose the 922 case.

Ok. Thx... what case would u recommend? I thought about ssd... but I can't get a ssd in a large enough size... what's wrong with the raptors?

What are you going to use the PC for? +1 for swapping out the 2600K for a 2500K or lower. I would consider reposting in the Systems forum and filling out the build advice form in my signature also.

^+1. Depending on your resolution I would likely recommend adding a HD 6950 to that build.

That hard drive is for laptops...

^ Although it is 2.5" there are 2.5" -> 3.5" adaptors. Also, some cases have a 2.5" bay.

What's the differnce between the p8p67pro and the p8z68?

Newer chipset, adds a backup video chipset option (in case your primary adapter fails or malfunctions).. There is also ssd caching but IMO its quite useless as of now.. Other than that they are almost same.. IMO Z68 is the ideal LGA 1155 chipset..

I'm also thinking of getting EVGA SC GTX 570 in sli... or should go with a different brand because I am worried about the temperature with SLI...also will the corsair HX 850 be sufficiant? Also will that antec case fit that seagate momentus xt 500 without having to buy anything extra being that it is2.5"?
