Crossfire and crossfire x?

Hi!
Whats the diffrent between crossfire and crossfire x? My motherboard is older and it says it supports crossfire but do it support crossfire x to? Have crossfire and crossfire x the same requiments? My motherboard is asus p5e3 deluxe and im going to buy 2 6950

It's one and the same. I think CrossfireX was what it was initially marketed as, and is still used a bit today, but mostly it's now just Crossfire.

I believe Crossfire X capability allows Hybrid compatibility with unlike cards. In your case you will be fine.

Crossfire is with 2 GPUs, crossfire X is with three or four GPUs, still the same idea just scaled up a bit.
