This is my current card

EVGA 512-P3-N975-AR GeForce 9800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

I am looking to upgrade on the cheap. Is the 5770 a decent upgrade? Am running a core 2 duo E8400 w/ an 850w Corsair 4gbs ram os is xp (will get 7 at some point)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

And if I want to keep it on the ATI then the 5770?

Actually for ATI I'd go with the 5850 instead since the prices have come down some ie. this Gigabyte card for $170 After shipping and MIR -- since it has the 256 bit memory bus instead of the 128 bit of the 5770.

Given my past experience with Gigabyte and rebates ( I never got one from an earlier purchase) I'll probably pass on any of their products. Good info on the card though.
