GPU upgrade 4870 -> 580?

Currently use an ATI HD4870 (512mb). Ready for an upgrade.

System: e8400 @ 3.6ghz, 4gb ram, win7 x64.

Power Supply - I will need to update it, depending on what card I want. Have my eye on a 60amp single rail at newegg.

I run dual screens, 1920x1200 each. Typically I like to game in a window (1680x1050). I would like the single most powerful card I can get for ~$500 for this setup. Leaning toward the GTX580 but so many people say the CPU isnt enough for it...others say the CPU will be just fine.

Anyone have a similar setup or have suggestions?

If there is any question about bottlenecking, the GTX 570's are coming down in price and can be found for $310-$320 after rebates. Newegg has the PNY GTX 570 for $310 after rebate with free shipping, lifetime warranty, free HDMI cable, and free copies of Just Cause 2 and Mafia 2. The performance will be close to the GTX 580.
