Hi guys! My computer has run beautifully for months on the 160GB, but last night I needed to do a clean install with a new version of Windows 7 I purchased.

Instead of overwriting the old drive, I used a brand new hard drive I had laying around (new WD 500), so I plugged it in and ran the install on it. I unplugged the 160gb during install. It ran fine all day. However, today, I plugged in my computer and started it up (after adding the 160gb back on for storage, etc.), and after a few minutes it will power off randomly. I don't understand what's going on. I have never had any inclination of an issue with the PSU..and all the drivers for everything were working fine. Any ideas?

What OS do you have on your 160GB drive? What does your bios set as the priority for your hard drives? It might still be trying to use your old drive and causing issues with the new one. Remove the old one and just load up with the new one and go into bios and set that as primary drive. Then put in the 160gb one and move all the files you want from that drive onto the 500g and reformat the 160gb.
