Cpu/ram combo plus promo code. EMCKEJG73 You need 64bit windows and there's really no reason to get pro over home premium. If you are a student you can get w7 for $30 from the microsoft site. You only need 650w. SB runs pretty cool so an air cooler is fine and you won't have to worry about leaks. You could get a cheaper hdd since you have a ssd, the hdd would only be for storage so speed isn't an issue.

Couple of Specific Q`s :

Mobo -- current am with p8p67 -- what is beneficial about hte z68 boards?

SSD - I have chosen the 128gb crucial M4 over the vertex 3 -- any thoughts there ? is it really worth spending the extra on the vertex 3 after the benchmarks dont really seem to reflect the price.

CASE - antec p183 - i chose this because of it size, airflow, cooling and solid construction with no bright trashy LED`s ( i have a 2.5 yr old ) -- is it over kill ,, would the antec 300 be surfice ? i want a solid case that may handle being moved in 18 months time , sick of too much plastic breaking.

RAM - GSKILL vs Corsair vs Kingston Hyper X ?

HDD - Changed from the above to a SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb - seems better bang for buck

Mouse n Keyboard -- .. ive owned razer lycosa and the same deathadder b4 - any reason i should upgrade the mouse ?

Mobo - Z68 has ssd caching, which won't help you with a big ssd, and it can use the igpu for quicksync if you do any video editing with software that is compatible with it.

Ssd - The m4 is fine.

Case - It is a silent type case not good airflow or cooling vs other case types. An Antec 300 is good if you want to save some money and will be better airlfow.

Ram - With the current deal on the gskill, it is the best.

Hdd - The spinpoint is 60 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Spinpoint-3-5-Inch-Intern...

Mouse and kb - I don't have experience with those so I wouldn't know.

Thank you for your comments .. most appreciated .

Case : I guess the most important factor is durability and sufficient cooling and airflow , I have bought many cases in the past -- would hte antec 300 be of the same build quality ? --

Ram : great ill lock that in .

Hdd : am trying to purchase everything from one place within reason , but thank you for that link ..

PSU - the 750 vs 650 is only 10 bucks differnce , is it worth it ? if i ever needed to upgrade and get another 560 in sli would it be better to have the 750 ??

Mobo : doesnt look like maya or any adobe product is gonna support quicksync anytime soon so ill stick with my asus p8p67 -- do u think asus over gigabyte ? or any other brand ,, i want stability ..

The antec 300 is good quality. Your mobo doesn't support sli. Most people suggest this mobo for that. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... And get the newer version of that psu. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

You still need to get 64bit not 32bit or you can only use 4gb ram which is not enough for your uses. If some 3d/2d software isn't compatible, than it is ancient and should not be used in the current field.

Most people suggest hyper 212. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... But the price rose from popularity which makes it the same price as the scythe mugen. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... The highest I would go is the frio. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Oh thank you so much for your eyes , mine are not evidently working .

I have updated to the 64 bit win 7 pro ,,

My last question is ... will either of those coolers fit .. they both say they are very large and some people have had difficulty because of the size , i want to keep all ram slots clear for optional upgrade at a later date ... Im sorry i dont have alot of experience building pc`s and that maybe a stupid question .

Best solution

They will all fit in the antec 300, but the scythe is really big and the fan will sit above your ram, but is not an issue.
