Hi, I (unfortunately) have 16GB DDR3 1066. If I upgrade to 1600, will I see a noticeable difference in regular usage? I use Windows 7 64 Pro, with a Corei5 2500k and a GTX 460 on a Gigabyte GA Z68A D3H B3. I mostly browse and game, usually BF3 and Tribes: Ascend. I also do a little bit of video encoding when I need to. So will I see any difference in my apps?
There is an obvious difference between 1066MHz and 1600MHz DDR3 on all platforms. However, it probably isn't worth the money that it would take to upgrade your memory. 16GB of DDR3 1600MHz should cost about $75 to $100 and although the difference can be obvious, it's not worth that much unless you can sell your current memory for at least 75% of the cost of the new 1600MHz memory.
