Belkins router

Hello,I paid $30 for a belkins router at best buy. it is horrible.
If I paid for a more expensive one will it be better. What determines the price. I transfer a lot of printing and photos. It says internet explorer is not working.

I suspect there's more to this story than the brand of router. Try to explain more and perhaps people can help.
