Confused! Tags: New Build Processors Systems Last response: May 20, 2011 12:26 PM in Systems Share johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 12:37:45 AM Ok so i'm really confused. I would like to know if the fan that comes with the Intel Core i3-2100 Processor, is good enough to keep it cool? (im not going to be doing any overclocking). More about : confused crewton May 20, 2011 12:46:00 AM Good because you can't overclock an i3 2100 Also the stock cooling that comes with the cpu will be fine for keeping it cool. mdd1963 May 20, 2011 12:59:41 AM WIth VERY rare exceptions (a few of the old Pentium-D models), Intel rarely ships cpus with inadequate cooling from the box. Get the answer johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 1:33:03 AM silly me! thank you johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 1:36:33 AM oh and does this mean i wont have to buy a real fancy case with lots of fans to keep it cool? will one standard 120mm fan be ok? crewton May 20, 2011 11:32:44 AM Depends on your graphics card if you have one or not and how well it cools. I'd at least have input and one output fan which most cases come with. johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 11:49:26 AM the graphics card is the GeForce GT440, and the case i was planning on getting only has one 120mm front fan! crewton May 20, 2011 12:03:13 PM Hmm wouldn't expect them to have no exhaust fans. The 440 isn't a power hog and doesn't heat up to the point I'd be worried about it. johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 12:05:29 PM So im ok with just the one intake fan? crewton May 20, 2011 12:10:11 PM Is this for a HTPC? You'll get some exhaust out of your psu and your general air temps shouldn't be high unless you are getting one of those tiny HTPC cases in which I'd say get one with an exhaust fan or add one to it. johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 12:14:21 PM yeah, and im looking to do a bit of gaming on it. johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 12:16:04 PM heres the case, http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/ShowInfo.asp?SIArray=764,... crewton May 20, 2011 12:17:20 PM Can you link your case? johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 12:20:56 PM i have ^^ crewton May 20, 2011 12:24:38 PM Ah ya it has an exhaust fan they just don't mention it. I'd say your good to go. If your temps are higher than you are comfortable with it does allow you to add 3 additional fans. johnpaul182 May 20, 2011 12:26:35 PM Oh! good, thank you so much for helping me out!
