Which processor will be faster for rendering Videos

Ok so Im having difficulties making a decision on what processor to get. More specifically whether or not I should take the intel route or AMD route.

The processors Im comparing are AMD phenom II X6 1100t and the Intel core i7 960.

Which one would be faster at rendering videos and which one would be better for gaming? I feel like intel will end up being the winner but I need to ask first.

At rendering the 1100t is about the same as the i7-960 but the 2600k is faster than both of them only being beaten by the 980x or 990x.
For gaming, I beleive that its a toss-up, depending on the game of course. The 1100t holds its own.

So it looks like you get to pick whichever prefer or researchmore into the specific apps that you use.
