I've always been a avid gamer since I was 13 playing whatever the game may be. Currently I play Darkfall Online which is very intense on my rig I get low 20's on my frames during big sieges just looking to upgrade some things mainly my GPU, Mobo, Ram. Please any suggestions or help would work.

Current Setup

Biostar 790GX - Mobo
4 Gigs OCZ Reaper DDR2 - Ram
AMD Phenom 940 BE - CPU
Sapphire 4850 - GPU
Antec Earthwatts 500w - PSU
Antec Sonata - Case
Corsair H50 - Heatsink

My considerations as of now were getting.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Mobo

GPU I'd like to get a 5850 but will consider anything. Thanks for all the help.

^ I doubt the RAM and the mobo is an issue,...Just upgrade the graphics card, would do IMO...
Also just add 1 more fan to the case, for a single card it should be fine,...

^ Wait till AMD launches their newer CPUs/ Mobos, then upgrade those,...
Also the AMD 940 has only DDR2 controller so you can can't use DDR3 RAM with that,...

thanks for the input would you go with a ATI card or Nvidia. Mainly trying to be able and fraps during sieges etc etc. Running 2 300g 7200rpm barracuda seagates I believe.

What's your budget? Either way I'd get the best card you can afford. That way when you upgrade the other components, you can keep the GPU, maybe adding one if it's relevant.

is it really worth upgrading to one of those cards over my 4850?

My budget also for a complete overhaul and or rebuild would be about 600 or so.

^ Unofficial sources point out that June would be the launch of the new AMD CPUs, so I would suggest you hold on till then,...And yes the current cards would perform very well when compared to the 4850,...
