What gpu do i have

Hello,

Just bought a ASUS g73jw laptop and ran a video it was choppy so I checked the device manager video adapter and it said standard video/no memory?

The G73 is suppost to have a NVIDIA GTX 440M 1.5gb GPU. Am I missing something?

there might be a cable or something disconnected, i had something like that on my old PC

Check the ASUS website for the latest video drivers for your laptop model, and install them.

Also ppossible there is a bios setting to enable integrated grpahics or that Nvidia

You don't have the video drivers installed for your particular machine. Go to the manufacturers site, and in the support section, enter your model, and download the video driver for your particular operating system.

I wonder why the driver didn't get installed when the laptop was set up the first time. At least with all the laptops I've set up the driver has been included in the system image (or whatever they use to boot it up from the hidden hdd section when it's powered on the first time)

if the graphics card isn't connected to mobo then the system doesn't recognise it, and you can't install drivers..

well he has a picture, yes? so the card is definetely plugged in...
