I think I lost my power supply, will this one work?

Hello,
I think I lost my power supply last night.
I was burning a CD, something I don't do very often, I started to hear a high-pitched whining, but figured that was the CD. Then, there was a pop, and then some smoke came out of the case.

Looking around that seems to be a power supply problem, but I'd love a confirmation that that's what happened.

I'd like to get a new power supply, and I used batuchkas's build in this thread initially.

I've heard that Corsair is good for power supplies and that Newegg has some on sale.
