Hey! I visit this forum quite often but this is my first time posting here. Anyways, I am planning on building an i5-2500k gaming rig. My budget is £720 and will buy it around 1st July.

Intel i5-2500k
Asus P8P67 PRO
Corsair Vengeance 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9
XFX HD 6870 1GB GDDR5
Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite
XFX Pro 650W Core Edition PSU

+ HDD and ODD

All this (inc. HDD and ODD) totals to around £640. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks :D

Hmm, the build is solid might want to get 750W to be on safe side for if/when you CF. If you aren't purchasing till July you might also want to see if bulldozer comes out and how it compares to the i5.

Its a good set of parts, the XFX unit is powerful enough to support 2 6870s if you want to crossfire in the future so you have upgrade options available.

By the time July 1st gets here, you'll probably be able to get a 6950 for the same price. So you should really wait till late June before trying to figure out what parts you want.

Fair enough. But, if the 6870 gets cheaper as well, I'll probably stick with it to save money.
