Hey.
I'm looking for a really decent Z77 to go with a 3770k and possibly tri-sli gtx 570's, possibly quad in the future.
the price isn't really an issue I just want a good board that will last the duration of the ivy bridge life.
I was thinking the ASUS Z77 WS
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...
but even for my budget that's a hefty price..

if anyone knows of any other decent boards out I'd love to hear,
thanks

well, there's this that'll fit you the tri-sli MSI Z77A-GD65 LGA 1155 Intel Z77
and the quad is much harder to find. Although I can't imagine you needing anything past tri-sli, especially with the gtx 570's. That'll get you through to Intel's tock, I'm sure.

the FTW is an amazing board, i forgot about it when I was writing this, but your right that would be my first choice..

i'm not too familiar with SLI so can someone please explain, if I'm running 3 or 4 GTX 570s will they all be at x16 (lets assume on the FTW) or will some be x16 and some x8 or will they all match the lowest option x8?
also does x16 vs x8 make a difference?

It all depends on the motherboard, always look at the specs of the pci-e slots and what they run at.
The first one usually is x16 and the others can go to x8 and x4.
Go for a board like the EVGA as its x16 and x8 as you progress to the other slots. They will run at the speed of the slot , you won't have any issues if that is what you are asking with the x8 especially on a pci-e 3.0 motherboard. You won't see a difference.
