Solution
Why are you getting a 2600K when you're not even overclocking? Plus the i5 2500 performs 99% of the 2600 what you are going to do the extra $100 should be used for the graphics, not the CPU. Get the i5 2500 instead.

Drop the 6970 and just pick up the 580, you have the money and you aren't planning to CF/SLI, might as well get the best single card you can get now.

Drop the Asrock Extreme4 P67, just get a cheapo H67 motherboard or the cheapest P67 board, you don't need it. You're not even CFing or OCing so it really is a giant waste of money.

Your build is good but as your aim is to play Battlefield 3 and the latest games on full i would chuck out that i7 and put in an i5 2500k, it works just as good and will hardly decrease the performance. then you could use the extra money to buy a GTX 580 or save it till you can buy another 6970 :) or use it to buy an SSD, i would recommend a size of 40+ , then you will have quick boot times and for specefifc applications installed on your SSD you will have optimal performcance :D

+1 for AznShinobi, but i would get a crossfire/sli capable board as you never know in the future you may want to add another 580. go for a P67 , i dont think the Z68 are worth it
