Sorry for re-posting this message. It was posted in the Chipsets & Bios Forum

I have a GB-X58A-UD3R, Intel i7-930 running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I have installed 6 x 4 GB G.Skill RipjawX DDR3. Post only reads 16 GB. How do I make it recognises all 24 GB ?

Thank you

This helps sometimes, when adding different amount of the RAM and its not recognized.

Can u reset the BIOS?
Reset the CMOS memory the right way as is described in the motherboard manual using the clear CMOS link with the power cord unplugged.

Put every sticks one by one
4GB 1 SLOT CHECK SYSTEM
4GB + 4GB 1 SLOT + 2 SOLT CHECK SYSTEM
Do this until 6 SOLT
While doing this if you found faulty solt mean if you put suppose 8 GB but getting only 4GB might possible MOBO's SOLT fauly
But before doing this i recommend go for BIOS UPGRADGE and
nikorr solution
Make sure power is off when playing with components

Problem solved
I took ABEKL advice and flash the Bios to version F7. I was a bit reluctant to update to the new Bios via the Internet but in the end I bit the bullet and did it anyway, actually it is quick and painless, lots better than the old "floppy way"

Once the computer reboots with new BIOS 24 GB is instantly recognized, Windows has no problem using it. Yes it is W7 64 bits Ultimate.

Thank you everyone for a very quick response, you helps are greatly appreciated
