6850 vs 5850 vs 5870

Which card is better? I'm looking for a good card to run BC2 and Crysis 2 that will run max details no problem at 1920 x 1080.

Current Specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz
Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X
Asus M4A88TD-V Evo/USB3
160 GB HDD for Windows 7 Ultimate
950W PSU
Mid-Tower Case

  1. ^ +1 ... I concur.
  2. agreed 5870 is the obvious winner.
  3. Out of the bunch the 5870 really digs down team in the heavier games like Crysis 2, Metro 2033, Call of Priyat, Just Cause 2... it's really about the shader count these games....

But the BAD news, to play these games 1920 x 1080 with max details at solid frame rates you'll need TWO (2) of any of these cards....

And, if this is your motherboard, you can't support two cards with it:

Hey, I'm playing Crysis 2 (pre-release), Metro 2033 at 50--60 FPS maxed out, BUT, I have a Crossfire PAIR of Sapphire Vapor-X 5870's....(see below)

In your current situation you'll have to go for a GTX 580 or ATI 6970 to get the performance you want. You've 950watt power supply is plenty

    My Systems:

    Cooler Master HAF-X
    i7-950 w/Noctura cooler
    ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 MB
    6Gb Corsair 1600 RAM
SLI pair of MSI Talon Attack 460s
    WD Raptor 300Gb 10k HD
    Corsair HX850 PS

    Corsair 800D
    i7-930 w/Venomous X cooler
    6Gb Corsair 1600 RAM
Crossfire pair of Sapphire Vapor-X 5870
    Corsair HX850 PS
  4. How does it not support two video cards? Says it's Crossfire Enabled.
  5. it's not that you can't crossfire but the issue might be the second slot running at x4. read the mobo description on the overview tab at the link he gave you (newegg)
  6. Well I feel stupid.
  7. 6850<5850<6870<5870

True for single card setups only,

The 6XXX series leapfrog their 5XXX brothers quite a bit if both in xfire
