Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm also a newbie to the PC world... so please help me with this problem.
I had an old PC, bought it on 2002 and the VGA's fan had been melted twice so far and I was thinking of buying a whole new set (except for the monitor since I already own a SAMSUNG P2370).

I only have a 640usd budget, and as a noob, I randomly selected a few things as such:

PROCCESSOR: INTEL CORE i3 550 3.20 GHz Cache 4MB [BOX] SOCKET LGA 1156
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P7H55M LX LGA 1156 INTEL H55 DDR3 SATA3
HARDDRIVES: WDC 1TB SATA3 64MB
VGA: MSI GeForce GT 430 1GB DDR3
RAM: CORSAIR DDR3 VENGEANCE PC12800 4GB (2x2GB)
CASING+PSU: COOLER MASTER USP 100RED + PSU EXTREME 550W
KEYBOARD: LOGITECH CLASSIC PS2 KEYBOARD
MOUSE: LOGITECH CLASSIC PS2 MOUSE
SPEAKER: INSPIRE T6160 5.1 Speaker Woofer 20W

Main usage are for gaming, design, and editing audio...

Can anyone help me with a more "Balanced" build specified under the budget?

The i3-550 + P55 chipset is the previous generation; I would suggest the i3-2100 + H67 chipset, since the architecture has advanced so greatly in the recent months. The i3 can hold its own against the AMD six-cores in games :)

Pass on the WD Black hard drive and go with a Samsung F3 1TB; it is faster than the Black and is significantly cheaper.

You should be able to afford a better GPU with that saved money, so see where that gets you.

Thank you for the reply, it really is helpful for me. ^^
and after I talk to some of my online friends, they said that GTX 430 are not good and need to be changed.... so if you have any opinions, it'd be good (for me, really) :D

and from what matto posted in other thread here:

Should I just buy GTS 240 instead? either ASUS or MSI maybe...

After adding the i3 and H67 mobo, what is your remaining GPU budget.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy for work...
After some calculations, I still have about 200usd left... ^^
and my friends recommended me ASUS GTS 240 1GB... so I want to ask a second opinion here.
