1155 PCIe lanes cap

Im thinking of upgrading to sandy bridge... however i have noticed that when using CF the lanes are reduced to x8/x8, how much of an impact will this have on my gaming if i decide i want to use CF in the future?

how much of an improvement will i see going from a E8400 to an i5-2500k?

Less than 5% according to most benchmarking.

Yeah - I took the plunge and bought an i5 2500K from a Core 2 Duo e6750 and O.M.G!!!! - HUGE MASSIVELY NOTICABLE PERFORMANCE BOOST IN EVERYTHING. And Im using XFire 8x/8x on the MSI P67-GD65.

3DMark11 scores (roughly)

1 - e6750 + 1xRadeon 5850 = 3700points

2 - e6750 + 2xRadeon 5850 = 5000points

3 - 2500K + 2xRadeon 5850 = 7000points!!!!
