Low FPS - new computer and graphics card

Hello all,

I just got a new computer.

Asus Essentio CM1630
AMD Phenom™ II X4 processor 830 2.8ghz
6GB DDR3 memory
6MB cache memory
ATI Radeon 3000 graphics (new one added)
Windows - 64 bit
1TB Hard drive

I upgrated the video card to a Radeon HD550 1gb video memory

I'm trying to play the game RIFT. I'm getting very low fps ... around 10 - 12 even in lowest settings. Shouldn't I be getting a much higher fps than that?

Any suggestions at where/how I should begin to correct this?

Thanks in advance.

What is your screen resolution, the HD5550 is extremely low-end but you should get a little more FPS out of it than that.

The rest of the system is ok though, correct? I just need to get another graphics card (and up the power supply if needed).

Is there a graphics card you would recommend? I was hoping not to invest $250 on one of the newest models.

Any advice?
