I recently decided to build my very first computer, after a long 7 hours of mounting everything and cable management i tried to boot my PC for the first time only to find absolutely nothing happens.. Everything is plugged in, I've tried using different outlets.. When i turn the switch on from the back the red LED's on the PSU light up for half a second then dies out, which leads me to believe that the PSU is a DOA but when i hit the power on the front of the case the blue LED turns on, but no fans or anything else run, any thoughts and what's causing this?

Components:

PSU: OCZ OCZ750FTY 750W ATX12V

Mobo: BIOSTAR TZ68A+ LGA 1155 Intel Z68

Case: Antec DF-85 Black ATX Full Tower Computer Case

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K

Not sure if the rest is relevant so i'll just leave it at that.

A pretty common problem with first builds are the connections from the case to the motherboard. Do you have your cpu power and all the other important wires connected properly?

No lol, my gpu had 8 pins connected onto the PSU so I tried taking off the extra two and it worked fine with just 6 pins connected. Thanks!
