Quick question, first time flashing a BIOS I just got an Ivy Bridge CPU and need to flash my Motherboard and have all the files for it on a thumb drive and I'm just about ready to flash it. Just have one question, do I flash my bios with my old Sandy Bridge CPU in it or do I need to put the Ivy Bridge CPU in it.

Just in case anyone needs to know, the motherboard is : ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

If you put IVY inside your system wont boot you need to put SB inside for flashing your bois [take back up before upgrade the bios] once flash sucessed put your IVY inside
