Best motherboard for 2600k OC???

Hi,

I would be getting a i7 2600k and overclocking it to say 4.5ghz on one of the following motherboards. please suggest me which would be best...

Asus Maximus V GENE

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H

ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 (for budget purpose)

I OC'd it to 4.6GHz stable with no hick ups.

Of course u have to upgrade your CPU cooler.

Do u want to spend more money?

Do u edit videos? With your CPU I would get the Z68, which is just fine.

If u can afford it, get Z77, but the feature gain is not that much.

And for the performance, its about the same.

And if $$$ are no issue, get the Asus Maximus V GENE .

With this one u can OC past 5GHz, with water cooling.

But, its not because the Z77, but because the power design and high end premium parts.

What i care about is a good core power as i would use it for 3d simulations and rendering with fair bit of gaming.. i definitely don wanna spend anything more..

the coolermaster cooler would get it stabled at 4.5??

OK, if u will OC 4.8+GHz, u need big cooling, because the heat is the enemy here.

The cooler it runs, longer the system works for u.

So decent cooling is great thing to have. Its also quieter.

ok thanks a lot!! i would be running the system almost for very long hours so wouldn be overclocking till 5ghz for the instability issues.. would be around 4.5ghz!!

so final bait Asrock and Coolermaster would do the trick right???? or shall i get asus and coolermaster??

Yes, I build 2 PC's withe 2600K + 2500K and tested them for over night in the room temp 80F and the temps were fine.

thanks a lot again... i ll get the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 with the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 and bump the cpu at 4.5ghz..

NO, as an addition to your system. To have the top CPU + decent mobo + decent cooling solution.

For the $30 more u get much better cooling than that COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus.
