Hey Guys,

I have to remove my motherboard to install a Hyper 212 Evo. Just wondering what is the best surface to rest it on face-down while I fix the backplate for the CPU cooler.

I am hoping that a cardboard box will do the trick but please tell me if the hard surface will damage any part of the motherboard.

This is probably just noob paranoia but it's my first time taking my pc apart and don't want to mess it up.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the link man. A good instructive video.

My problem is that there is no cut out access to the back of the motherboard via the inner wall of the case. So I have no choice but to take the whole thing out of the case.

My question remains, is it safe to just keep the motherboard face down on a box?

Cheers.
