hey guys just upgraded my rig recently and I am now looking for a good gaming headset with good noise cancellation technology and nice sound quality. I need in order to speak to people on ventrilo and in-game chat, I also need the noise cancellation because I have a rather loud AC in this room and it would kind of suck with headphones and a clip on mic. What are my choices? I have been looking at this Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset today actually, is this any good?

I swear by the Logitech G35 Headset. 7.1 surround sound and it is VERY loud. No noise cancellation, but you probably wouldn't need it with such killer sound. Besides, the enclosures on the headset do a good job of muffling sound, and from my experience, noise cancelling headsets don't completely kill all sound anyhow.. Only certain frequencies.

Go the Logitech G35 around $130 7.1 or the Thermatake TteSports Shock (white looks nicer) 5.1 for $50.

Something in between would be the Plantronics GameCom 777 but if you can spend $80 you might aswell bypass it for the G35.

If your hardcore on FPS you might want the G35 if not cut about $80 off the price and go the Shock. Check out the official websites for stats happy gaming

In my opinion the Turtle Beach Ear force brand is excellent with 7.1 Dolby surround sound quality. It also offers noise cancellation mc with talk-back and voice morphing capabilities. All at a good price too.. Check out some reviews @ http://www.turtlebeachreview.com

I've heard/read nothing but good things about Corsair's foray into the peripheral market.
Including good things about their headsets.
I can't speak from personal experience but the Corsair headset is on my Xmas list.

the roccat kave does not use "simulated" 5.1 surround it actually has multiple speakers in each ear it also has a vibration pack in each ear for bass heavy games as well as a desktop controller with easy control over each speaker channel and easy mute volume and mic mute buttons, it is also very good value and is only £60
