This is my first build, so if anything seems to basic to mention, it probably isn't! This is mostly used with 3ds Max, Maya, Rhino, Adobe suite and It's a windows 7 machine

Thanks for the input

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP

Budget Range: 2000-2500
System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3d modeling, 3d rendering, image editing, video editing

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: Intel sandy bridge processor and an nvidia quadro card

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire:Maybe

Additional Comments: Won't be doing any gaming on this machine, its all for model production, rendering, and image and video editing.

Is everything compatible?

First build, am I missing anything??

Do the two storage drives seem to make sense? I'm producing around 2 GB of material a day that is being stored on the machine for periods of time, and running multiple 3d modeling programs at once.

Is the power supply excessive?

Is the extra cooling necessary? I saw the negative reviews of the 'pin system' that made me think yes...

Have you had good experiences with acronis true image?

^ Some suggestions
Here is a build with different parts and combos,...

i7 + GSKillz 16GB kit

Mobo - Newer Z68

Newer SATA III SSD with Acronis

Backup -
Samsung F4 2TB
$10 off with promo code HARDOCPX518B, ends 5/24

PSU - I would prefer Seasonic over that one,...

CASE - This would be cheaper after shipping and is newer with USB 3.0
LIAN LI Lancool PC-K59

Thermal grease - Stick with the one that comes with the 212+, the AS5 is electrically conductive and currently doesnt perform much better...
But if you want better ones, then any of these,...|35-186-020^35-186-020-02%23%2C35-154-003^35-154-003-02%23%2C35-100-015^35-100-015-02%23%2C35-233-069^35-233-069-TS
