Forum CPU & Components : Power Supplies, Cases & Mods 5.25" fan controller advice.

I'd like a fan controller for a 5.25" drive bay. There are a lot of choices out there and I was looking to see if anyone has one that they like.

All I need this unit to do is reliably control the fan speeds. I don't need a fancy display, thermal sensors, rpm meters, alarms, or LEDs but I don't mind any of those things as long as the unit can reliably control the fans and is well-built. I don't care about molex vs. three-pin connectors, either (I have several adapters), and I would also be open to on/off switches instead of variable speed controllers.

i have one of these--had it for 4 years now with no problems--not the cheapest but very good build quality

this seems to be one that you want, you can turn the fans off by turning the dials to 0

let me know how it works, im planning on getting one for my next build

if you go for mc numpties buy it from amazon or somewhere else, its the same price as that ebay link but you know you can send it back if anything goes wrong

here is one from scan.co.uk that has a 2 year warenty on it

Thanks guys, I'm leaning toward the lamptron. Any other suggestions?

I also kind of like this lamptron:

that one only does on off nothing in between--ideal for turning lights on or off but doesnt give much fan control

I went with one of the switch controllers from frozencpu and it does its job. I don't seem to have the "best answer" buttons though...weird.

i think if you start a disussion or a poll theres no best answer button but if you ask a question there is--never did either so dont know for sure but i think thats how it works
