Please help me with my first DIY computer build

Please help me with my first BIY computer build:


The only thing I really care about is the processor which I want to be the core i7 2600K. Also I want to make absolutely sure it will not overheat and I don't want to worry about fan speeds or cooling. How about CPU pastes? Coolers?

But everything otherwise I am completely ignorant about. Please offer ANY suggestions or alternatives.

I'd also like some thing to help seal noise inside so it's not loud.

I am so sick of working on cramped laptops with power throttling CPUs. This is going to be a work PC. Something I can do everything on EXCEPT gaming. I care nothing for PC gaming. I will be using it for video, photo editing. 3D creation, 3D movies (like polygons etc that kind of 3D). Programming..

I will eventually want to safely overclock this CPU.

Also what cables would I need?

This all seems so daunting though. How do I know if everything will be compatible? How do I put it all together?

Could I do 12GB of memory by adding a third stick or is that bad?

Do I need any extra enclosures for hard drives etc? Screws?
