Toshiba is a well respected brand. They are durable, and stay around a long
time.
"Refurbished" can indicate a lot of things. A returned lot, business trade
in's, somebody who couldn't use it, etc.

Toshiba Satellite?
That doesn't say much. There have been well over 500 different models
in the Satellite line, the Satellite line has been in production for
about 15 years. You have to be more specific. You question is about
like asking "why are there so many chevrolet cars".
Refurbished has no fixed standard meaning. Sometimes it just means
"used", other times it means "repaired" and other times it means "used
and reconditioned". Many laptops used by major corporations are leased
for 2 or 3 years and then returned.

Lack of software.
For anything that u wanto do on the MAC, there maybe 1, 2 commercials,
and a couple of sharewares for tha task.
In the PC world, there would be 7 commercials, and more shareware that
u care to test them all.

Why is there so much software for Windows and so little for Macs?
Is there a problem with Apple computers?

Why are u keep saying problem with Apple? There is no problem with
Apple.
We can spend all day talking so we won't. Suffice to say this is what
it is:
The Wintel consortium has 70% market share, Apple has 5%. If you are a
developer, why would you spend your time chasing 5% customers when you
can have 70?

There really isn't "so little" as many suspect. The difference is that many
mainstream Windows titles aren't available for Mac, or weren't prior to OS
X. More and more major titles are finally writing for Mac. However there
are literally tons of open-source/freeware/shareware programs for Mac, many
that rival or surpass Windows mainstream titles.
When you consider that Windows hardware components tend to be cheaper
upfront and that the major pc manufacturers (Dell, Gateway, HP to name
three) started out shipping with Windows as the OS the latter is obviously
more mainstream. When you can go to just about any store and buy a Win pc
off the shelf, for people who just want a computer and know nothing more
than that, they're going to go with what's in front of them or more
easily/cheaply accessible.
Apple's market share has risen significantly. Macs are gaining in
popularity again and, thanks to iPod, Apple and Mac are becoming household
names again. You won't see as many Macs on Ebay as Windows pcs but its not
solely because Macs are so fewer (they are fewer though) but also because
people hold onto their Macs. They don't have the 3yr average life
expectancy that many Win pcs do, they last and they (running OS X) are
currently exempt from active viruses.

man, I feel so sorry for you! your jokes were great, funny and to the
point, but you are having a hell of a time getting it across!
people don't really read these posts in context, and irony can be really
hard to pick up in email and such.
I think you're going to have to explain the joke. (or just drop it which I
prefer when a joke I tell doesn't come across - explanation of one's own
joke is a painful concession of defeat!)
