Best motherboard for about $100 to go with intel i5 2500k?

Other specs are radeon 6870, g.skill 8 gb ram (2x4), rosewill 80 plus certified bronze 550 watt, Seagate barracuda 1tb 7200 rpm 32 MB, and windows 7.

You should be OK for another 6870 in the future, then, and I stand by the Extreme3. If you haven't got the PSU yet, I recommend that you switch to a more reputable brand, but you should be OK.

Just to give you a example of what a beast the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 truly is when it teamed up with Intel i5 2500k http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2301991   I could get it higher but i need better cooling   make sure you buy i5 2500k not i5 2500 it's only 10 dollars more for the i5 2500k and well worth it you won't be able to overclock on the i5 2500
