my friend recently bought a new CPU it is an AMD Athlon II 64 duo Core when installed to the computer it comes up AMD Processor Unknown 2.87 Ghz and the computer has begun to freeze after about 1-2 minutes of being on. I re-installed the old CPu which is running out like this
AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3400+ 1.81 Ghz

I believe that what migh tbe happening is that the CPu is overheating and causing to freeze, so I am curious on how to cool it down properly and make the entire computer not freeze while it is running

Please help, as I am curious as to what might be the problem with it. Before the upgrade it worked fine and now with the new CPU plugged in it always freezes and says that it recovered from a error. is it too much power for the motherboard?

It sounds like the Mobo BIOS needs to be updated to properly recognize the CPU and adjust the CPU voltage. Check the Mobo makers website to see if the latest BIOS supports the new CPU and if so you'll need to update the BIOS.
