Hey guys, I was thinking about getting a new cooler and ocing, But i figured since im using a OEM Motherboard i cant. I wanted to get 3Ghz Or 3.2Ghz, My Specs are:

Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz
ASUS P5Q-VM (OEM) Motherboard
8GB DDR2
XFX Radeon HD 6870
TX750 Corsair PSU
600T Corsair Case

The board is locked, So it cant OC. Is there any way i can flash retail bios on it.. Or would it brick? Thanks..

I would assume the retail bios would flash, but your taking a big risk. Try to find software that will OC it. I wouldn't risk the bios unless you have some way of backing it up or replacing it.

Agree with Falcon here, i think there is a good chance of your Flash working, but still a small chance you may brick your board, although i believe all Asus boards now have a back up rescue BIOS, you need to look more closely at you boards tech details to establish if the risk is worth it or not, alternatively you could probably buy a retail version of the board from ebay for not much money, and replace your board.
