Cable management question.

Hello,

I'm currently in the process of doing the cable management of my new build and I was wondering if it was a safe option to route cables directly beneath the motherboard; or in other words between the motherboard tray and the motherboard itself.

The case I'm using is the HAF 922 and the cables I'm wanting to route in this fashion are the front panel connectors.

Would routing cables through this area risk a short occurring?

Thanks.

I route a few cables directly under the Mobo, including the 20+4 pin cable, as long as you make sure your not going to pierce the cable with a sharp solderpoint from the mobo you'll be fine,
drill the holes for access behind the mobo about 5-10mm inside the boundary of the mobo (so you wont see them once the mobo's in place) feed them through, put Mobo on and screw into place, then connect the headers and gently feed any slack back through, I usually pull them from the back of the mobo at the same time so theres never any pressure,
as long as you are careful you wont have any issues
