Hi, I am probably going to be buying a budget light gaming/desktop use computer in the near future. I already have the case, and CD/DVD Drive. Here is what I'm thinking about. Please keep in mind that I don't need super stellar performance, just enough to do some light gaming here and there as well as some graphic design. My current workstation is a 2004 Mac Mini 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, and I'm still able to be productive. I'm looking for a slight upgrade, and I want to be able to play more games so Windows is better for that. Thanks!

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz (hopefully unlock it)
MOBO: ASRock A770DE+
GRAPHICS CARD: SAPPHIRE 100293L Radeon HD 5570
RAM: Mushkin Enhanced 4 GB (2 x 2GB)
HDD: Western Digital AV RFHWD3200AVJS 320GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA

Push the gfx card to a 5770 (5830's are actually cheaper in the uk right now as well)
but its a nice little build,
dont forget your power supply though :p

Yeah I was thinking about upgrading the graphics o the 5770, but I think I'll hold off on it for right now, as I don't think I'll be needing it, plus if I do, it's an easy swap! Also, I'll have more money after the end of summer, so I'll be able to afford it without worry :)  Sorry I forgot to mention the power supply.

COOLMAX CA-450 450W

There are mixed reviews for it on Newegg, but I think I'll pull the trigger on it because of it's low price.

u cant unlock nothing on the Athlon II X2 250 because it a true dual core, it has no extra cores disabled but there solid cheap gaming processors.

I hadn't realized that, just another example of me being blind :p  thanks for the info!

I'd have said the x3 435 as I run two in our rigs, but no newegg link for those :p
anything triplecore is a good base though

Hi guys, I found a bundle where I get the AMD Athlon II X3 450 and the Biostar A770E3, a comparable MOBO for $120 together! Is this a good deal, as that means I spend the same money, but I get a Tri-core instead of dual-core, that can be unlocked! I think the MOBO trade off is fine, I don't see anything I need on the ASRock board that I need that isn't on the Biostar one. Thanks in advance!
