I'm currently looking for PC parts for my cheap "gaming" build, but I don't know what power unit I should get. I was going to get 85- watts but I recently looked at it and I don't think I need that much power, so I'm trying to save money. I'm now adding up the Power of all my (future) components.
I'm looking to buy a MSI 970A-G46 motherboard but I don't know how much power consumption it has so I don't know how much I need to add for the power.
Im a novice but here's my parts (please tell me if there is any compatibility issues):
- AMD phenom II x4 Black Edition (125watts)
- AMD MSI 7770 (2 In crossfire, 115 watts each)
- MSI 970A-G46 Mobo
- 3-4 small fans
- 16 GB ddr3 RAM 1333Mhz (1.5v)
- 250 GB 5400rpm HDD
I also going to get either an SSD and a 1tb Hard Drive for extra storage.
I wouldn't want to go below 650W for your PSU since you are in X-fire. You'll probably be drawing about 400W+ so you will want some headroom but I dont think 800+ is needed. 650 - 750 should be adequate
